Hey Seddit, Ive been mostly a lurker here and love reading the threads that people here create. It great to see a community of people who love helping others.

Anyways, my dating history has been super hit and miss and Ive often been a little intimidated of talking to girls who I don't know in public situations. I had been reading several threads about how to approach and would you know that saying hi might be all you need to do.

Im out at Starbucks, working on a few projects on my laptop and in walks this women who is just as fine as she wants to be. Im sitting in the corner typing away and she decides to sit at the table right next to mine. She was dressed like she just came from the gym. She placed her notepad down on the table and then went to go get coffee. At this moment I had been on the phone with a friend collaborating on a website. When she came back, she sat down and started scribbling in her notebook. We managed to meet eye to eye a few times and smiled each time we did it. I knew I wanted to break the ice between us and finally made my move.

When I got off the phone with my friend, I turned over to her and said, "Hey, how are you doing"? She looked back at me with a smile and said she was good and asked the same of me. I replied that I had had a crazy day (seeing as that was the case) and just wanted to get out of the house to get some work done. She then went back to writing in her notebook at which point Im thinking that I responded wrong or maybe she wasn't interested. It was about a minute after I went back to what I was doing that I heard her ask me a question. "What phone is that"? I had my phone is a red wallet case and it was sitting beside my laptop. I said "Oh this is the Nokia Lumia 1520 (Windows Phone for those who don't know). I replied. "I see you have the Note III." It caught me off guard that my phone would actually catch a girls interest but I was glad it was here. We started talking about her phone and how it was a recommendation from a friend of hers who worked at Best Buy. The other thing that caught her eye was the Galaxy Gear that I had around my wrist. She started asking me all kind of questions about it.

All the while Im thinking that this couldnt have gone any better and I was really enjoying out conversation. This all eventually led into questions about whether I worked or not (I did) I told hear that I am a tech reviewer and that I manage my own website. I also told her that I was a tech consultant for a chiropractor. She was impressed. I also took the time to formally introduce myself as I had and I also wanted to know her name. I finally had it, her name was Diane. I found out she was 22 (Im 23), filipino, and currently studying at our local college (UNLV). She was looking at doing nursing as her major but had a lot of doubt as to whether it would be a good career path for her. I offered up the fact that my own mom was a nurse practitioner and absolutely love it. She went back to school mid-life to jump into nursing and couldn't have been happier about the decision. She was super pumped to hear this and I think it reassured her that going into nursing would be an excellent move. ( I felt that was a good way to create value)

It felt like our conversation had been hours long but it had honestly been 45 minutes and then the dreaded part of our conversation where you had to leave. She had go to work (who knew) and I was thinking to myself that I didn't want this to end. I manned up and aced nonchalantly "Well before you leave, mind if I could get your number?" She replied was an enthusiastic "Oh, of course!" My heart was smiling with joy on the inside. She entered in to the dialer on my phone, I called it (just to make sure it was real, that check out) and then asked if I could take a picture to give her contact info some life (Thought it was a good idea, seeing as I felt it would help create permanence). I told her before she left that I was a very inquisitive person, and I was a huge foodie. ( I love going to eat, its a very social activity. She replied that she was a huge foodie as well and we spent the next few minutes talking about our favorite restaurants. In that she said. "We will have to go on date so that we can have some fun out eating." I was agreed in kind.

Prior to her leaving, I initiated some kino by finishing with a close hug. She then left and went to work and I just felt like heart died and went to float on cloud nine!

It wasn't something I went looking for but seeing as Ive always been hit or miss with girls, I was very happy with this outcome. I just wanted to share this report with Seddit because its aways fun to share what you feel are your victories.

So how do I follow up from here? I would love to set something up with her and see where things go. I plan to follow up with updates!
