I'm 19 and work at a gas station where I do 90% of my social activity considering we're forced to talk to girls all day there.

So my buddy/coworker decided that he would force me to try and get a girls number, he made me go up to the next person who isn't a cute girl and try to get their number. He made me try it with someone who isn't a cute girl because well, it's hard to take a hit your first time and if it's someone that you're not interested in then it doesn't hurt. So I tried it and found that I could make it a pretty funny experience. Each person I asked ended up laughing with me and thought it was funny.

It was honestly quite fun. We had a cute girl pull up and I do my normal routine. We have to say Hi, how are you ..etc and at the end ask for their member number. So I do all the Hi, how are you's and I pump her gas, didn't say anything to her and walk away for a bit. I come back and say "Ok, can I get your member number?" "Yeah, it's blah blah" then I dropped a "Ok, and can I get your phone number?" with a almost not very serious tone to it, just enough so it doesn't seem like I was asking as part of my job. She laughed and had this huge smile on her face, and she asked "Why what do you need that for?" I responded with "Ohh I don't know, I assumed we could hang out sometime. You could totally come to my house and play videos, and meet my pet turtle." she thought it was hilarious (and knew I was kidding, sarcasm is hard to express over Reddit) and gave me her name/number and then I told her I'd give her a call.

I lost the number that night after work :(

I tried again the following day, and turns out it I was pretty lucky that night. I tried on 3 cute girls and all told me they had boyfriends, I did however get one girl to add me on Facebook just to find out she has a boyfriend. I'm assuming it was because I wasn't as playful about it, I was in a more serious tone with each girl.

Things I learned

    1. Don't take it so seriously, chill out. Be playful.
    1. Nothing happens from being rejected
    1. I know nothing about dating.
    1. You can tell if a girl is interested before even talking to her. It's like a sixth sense.

Tips I'd love to here

    1. Should I just kill it if they say they have a boyfriend? I've seen so many people catch girls lying because they decided to drag it on.
    1. What's a good way to have a better success rate?
    1. If I keep having girls say they have boyfriends, it's a bad sign right?
