So this is my first post, I’ll get that out of the way.

I’d like to give a FR then ask a question, but first I’ll talk about myself =) after all who doesn’t like to do that!

I’m 21, fairly outgoing , and new to a lot of things. (I grew up in “hillbillyville” Minne-snow-ta) Obviously new to reddit, and very happy about finding this sub-reddit, because I’m also new to picking up the lovely ladies.

I would like to say if I had to rate my skills I’m good at opening with strangers, I have no issues talking to them. I need a push every once in a while to start, but I’m almost completely over that. Once I’ve opened I’m golden with stories and I know how to work a group of people and demonstrate value, but my real problem is escalation/kino… yeah its sad… but that’s why I am browsing reddit at work, looking up tips i can use later tonight.

Anyways enough about me, onto the story.

Me – Relaxing at local bar on a busy Thursday night, having drinks with friends, and everything was merry. The person on the stool next to me swivels around 180 degrees and faces me so I turn toward them as well, turns out to be a Hot Babe 7.5. I ask her “how are you?” lame I know, but simple and it breaks the ice. We hit it off, chit chat, turns out I worked with one of her really good friends. At one point she asks me like 5 questions in a row so I make fun the classic way “whats with the 20 questions jeez!?”

About 15 min later I must have been doing something right because she says “you’re really cute, but you’re going to have to settle for my number tonight, because i’m not that kind of girl.” I hadn’t even mentioned getting her number. She inputs her number into my phone, then locks eye contact and says “promise you’ll call me.”
I said “well…I’ll have to think about it” with a smile. Just before she walked out the door, she came back up to me and said “promise?” and I gave her a hug, kiss, and smile for my answer.

<Next night> I run into HB again at the bar next door to the one last night.

< Long story short.> She is already sitting in a group of 5 other guys. One tries to make convo with me to block the way, I dominate, HB comes and hangs with me and my friends the rest of the night. I get dirty looks from the table of 5 guys I stole HB from. This time she makes me promise to take her out.

Chit chat and txt for 3 days.

TL;DR start here

Now its December 28th, 2 days before new year’s eve, just 4 days after we met, and she sends me a txt “why don’t you just ask me out?” I respond “that would have been just too simple, how about tonight?” We try to arrange a date, but she has finals, and I am working like 9999999 hours a week.

She calls me on new year’s eve, she is going out with her 4 friend in a limo downtown. Just like every phone conversation we had, it goes very well, flirting, and she ended with “promise you’ll take me out on a date” I say “it’ll be my new year’s resolution”

New years day –call no response - leave a joking message

two days later, I txt. - No response

5 days later I call again. - No response

Obviously I am like WTF?

About 2 weeks after that I run into the HB’s friend who used to be a co-worker of mine, and ask whats up with her. HB’s friend says “she gave up guys for new year’s, she has a streak of meeting the wrong guy” (insert string of expletives) JUST MY LUCK

I never found out if it was just random schizo behavior or she was telling the truth.

I ask HB’s friend to put in a good word for me, but don’t expect anything.

Basically my question is, from hearing this story…

1.) Seriously ladies…WTF?

2.) I want to learn from this experience, what could have I done better? (I know I can say “well its out of my control” but I’d rather be hard on myself and learn)

3.) If you have any tips or links to posts for escalation/kino its my biggest area of opportunity and would appreciate the help.
