Hey Guys,

After reading a bit of Models by Mark Manson (Great book 100% must for the community) I decided that I should go pursue girls outside my tiny boarding school. It just so happened that I had already asked one of my teachers to take me to the mall tonight prior to reading the book. My roommate and I walked into the mall and went to the food court almost immediately. We saw a group of three girls who my roommate said looked like they were 16 or 17. I knew that they were wayyyyy older, but he said to go talk to them. AA started to kick in but he kept pressing and pressing until I caved. I had no idea of what I was going to say but I walked over to them and simply sat down at a seat next to one of them. They all looked at me so I said "hey, how's it going?" They looked at each other and started laughing. I sat there and waited for it to die down. Then I said my name and asked for theirs only one of them answered but the others ignored it. I asked them what age they were and one answered 18 and another said 23. I hadn't gotten a good look at her but since the other one said 18 I decided to joke about it. I said "Really, you don't look a day over 16." They started laughing again saying "wow that was mean". I lied, I don't know how good my lie was but I said I was 17. Then the girl who hadn't spoken yet asked if this was a prank and if they were on TV. They all broke into laughter and started making comments about cameras and people bursting out saying that they were on a new show. I said no but i was starting to get flustered. They kept talking until one of them asked if I had been dared to do this and I said no I just came over because I wanted to. They started laughing again. Seeing that it was going nowhere I decided to leave as gracefully as possible ending with a "Happy Holidays". I went to sit back down and started eating my meal.

Considering all that happened I'm proud of myself. This is my first real approach in my life. I kept my cool and kept smiling even though a me with lighter skin would've been blushing in embarrassment. I also got over the whole thing super quickly thinking about the fact that i'll never see the people again. "Models" stresses the need to get rejected and get over it. I feel like I applied this rather well for my first time. Any help you guys can offer would be awesome, this things is actually kind of fun now that I've experienced it.
