I'm usually worried I'm staring so I tend to alternate eyes or, as others have suggested (in other posts) focusing on the bridge of the nose. But I do think it's natural to focus on one eye more than the other (I think it depends on how you and she are positions, be it at an angle or directly across from one another). Interesting thought, though.
