A bit later than planned (I was too tired when I got home yesterday), but thought I'd write a field report detailing the results of my third and final (for now) day of daygame in London. In ways, it was arguably my best so far.
So, again, maybe opened around 20 sets over the course of the day. Some went better than others but the blowouts do not bother me any more. Good news is that I do seem to be getting consistently better at least at stopping girls and initiating conversation. I still need to work on my vibe and energy as I have a habit of letting it slip which is the cause of most of my blowouts.
So, the highlights:
1) Italian Brunette. Stopped a beautiful Italian brunette in Spitalfields Market. Opened with the assumption that she was French (good sense of style, flowing dark hair). She smiled and corrected me that she was Italian and then, when asked where exactly, from Venice specifically. Spoke a bit about the differences between London and Venice and then the similarities (both full of tourists for most of the year). Asked her what brought her to London and she said she worked for Gucci. I teased her a bit ("typical Italians and your high fashion"). Then something interesting happened - there was a pause and I just held it for a second or two. She then reached out with her hand, smiled and introduced herself to me. If that's not an IOI I don't know what is. I tell her I have 20 minutes before I have to meet a friend and would she like to grab a coffee. She says she would but she has to head home to get ready to go out again. Number closed. Pretty pleased with myself despite no instant date - as she was beautiful.
2) Spanish au pair - I've met a few au pairs this weekend! Stopped a Mediterranean looking brunette and assumed she was Spanish. Big smile, said I was right - Barcelona. Standard chit chat about how different London must be (joking that the weather is clearly nicer in London). Asked what she did for work and she said she was an au pair. Teased her about getting strict with the kids but then said it must be nice to be living with a family when living in a different country. Tried to get her out for a coffee but she had to go so number closed.
3) Singaporean au pair. In Selfridges food hall. See a pretty Asian girl with a big beige coat and old-school Nikon camera. Stop her with "This is going to be very random - but you must be from New York". I'm learning that you could actually say anything here (but best to have some kind of reasoning behind it), often they will smile and just correct you - then you have something to work with! She says no but she would love to visit there, she's from Singapore. I say I'd love to go to Singapore one day. She asks where I'm from (IOI) and I say Wales. This time she says she'd like to visit Wales but is going to Scotland in the summer. I say that while in Scotland she'll have to try haggis (and then have to explain what haggis is!). She says that she can't because she's vegan. I congratulate her - it took her a full 5 minutes to mention that she's vegan. She laughs. It's going well so I say that I have to meet my friend in 20 minutes but does she have time for a coffee. To my amazement she agrees! My first instant date - coffee in Selfridges. We discuss veganism, the fact that she used to be an air stewardess (which lead to a long discussion about travel) and her being yet another au pair. Was a good half an hour long, got her number and a hug when we left.
Bonus blooper set - fantastic looking tanned blond on Oxford Street. Stopped her and said she must be Swedish. Turns out to be from Brazil but speaks with an upper class English accent. I tease her for not sounding Brazilian and she says she was born there and the family moved to the UK when she was very young. Everything's going very well until I ask her what she does. She says "Oh I'm trying to pick a college". Now, in the UK, "college" can mean university (like it does in the US) or can mean the last two years of secondary school. I say "Oh, you're trying to pick a uni?" and she laughs and says "not yet, I'm only 16". Hilariously, I panic slightly, tell her to have a nice day and eject. 16 isn't illegal in the UK but it definitely is creepy for a 27 year old guy to be chatting her up! She was very pretty and mature for her age - a lucky escape there!
Sticking point - I feel I should say that all of the numbers I got over this weekend (even the one from the instant date) look like they were flakes! I guess this is to be expected at this early stage but I may have to look into why if it keeps happening.
Overall, it's been one hell of a weekend! Never thought I'd get the phone numbers (flakes aside) of some beautiful girls and an instant date would have been unimaginable three days ago. It's amazing to think that this stuff works. A year from now, with dedication - who knows where I might be....
Action points now I'm back home:
a) keep approaching, stay motivated using my successes in London; b) look into working on my voice (need to be louder, slower but with higher energy; and c) maybe use some of the confidence and lack of AA from my daygame to try some nightgame too!
Going forward, I figure I'll do more FRs as I develop (I find it helps me if I document any progress, and some of the encouragement on this sub is fantastic).
See you next time - and if you're ever in Cardiff, drop me a message :)
there doesn't seem to be anything here
