I've been staying at my friend's place in a big college town for a little while, just to get myself out of my hometown. Of course, in a college town, there are plenty of opportunities to get laid, so I've been trying to take advantage of this, but have yet to achieve positive results. The closest I came (no pun intended) was last weekend.
I had been invited by a girl I was already chasing to a grillout with some of her friends. I got there, everyone was playing cards, nothing much happened. I drove her home, walked her to her door, and she apologized for being lame, said that she would invite me in but she was feeling tired. Now I'm still not entirely sure how to take this, but I think it was platonic. Anyhow, she gave me a hug, and I went on my way, feeling tired and lame and a little friend-zoned.
When I got back to my friend's house, it was dark and no one was home. So I called another friend to see what he was up to, and as it happened, there was a costume party going on that night that he was going to. Perfect, I thought. Exactly what I needed to pick myself up. So I got changed, listened to an intense song, generally got in state, and rode my bike over to the party. When I got there, I found my friend upstairs talking to a cute girl. He introduced her to me, the three of us stood around talking, went to get drinks, etc. I didn't think she was that into me at first, but then I noticed that she kept making eye contact with me. Needless to say, it wasn't very long before we were dancing, and then the phrase "fucking on the dance floor" comes to mind. I mean, this girl was INTO it. It seemed like the only thing separating us from having sex right there was our clothes. We started moving our faces ever closer to each other's, me staring at her lips and her at mine. Slowly, I kissed her, and then whispered in her ear, asking if she wanted to go back to her car. At this, she suddenly pulled away, saying I could take her out or something, and offering general resistance. After this, I had more or less lost it with her for the night, and we ended up going our separate ways without even exchanging numbers. Now, if you're still reading, this is where things slowly start to turn. I orchestrated a scheme with my friend who had introduced me to her to get us to meet again. This worked out, but it was a more laid-back setting. She seemed less interested, although I did get her number at the end of the night. I texted her the day after the next day, asked her what she was doing for the week. She said she was busy with school, so I asked her what she was doing for the weekend. She told me she was busy saturday...but to be honest, she wasn't interested in getting together. She apologized if she had given the wrong impression. I said that's okay, and that I was impressed with her honesty and straightforwardness. She didn't send me anything after that, until the next day, when she sent me a text that just said, "No problem :)"
So now my question is this: Is it possible to still pursue this girl? Should I text her back, or maybe wait until I see her again, possibly at another party? What kind of strategies can I implement here? TL;DR: Met a girl at a house party, danced suggestively, she resisted when I propositioned her, later told me she wasn't interested yet I feel like there still might be a chance.
