Well seddit, I've been a lurker for a long-time, and I've been working to get back into the dating scene. Recently, I've started taking actions to have some PUA material to attract girls I think are attractive.

However, tonight was my first time ever hitting on a girl in a bar scene. Boy, did I fail miserably. Allow me to share my experience so a similar thing doesn't happen to you.

I'm out on a Monday night to celebrate a co-worker's girlfriend's birthday at some bar I've never been to. A girl with said girlfriend's group enters who I think is attractive. Eventually, I get to a point where I have had a couple drinks and I feel confident in approaching her.

She's been playing a game of pool for the past couple of minutes and I think I should work this in to my opener.

I decide upon, "Hey, I've been watching the way you handle that pool stick and I like what I see".

I approach, smiling and use my opener. She looks at me and says, "Really? That's your pick-up line?". I think I laughed it off and tried to create some conversation about her being a pool hall hustler/hustla(and I tried to start a debate about the differences between hustler/hustla to try and play the humor angle since my opener fell flat). However, that failed spectacularly and she quickly ejected.

She started avoiding me and didn't make eye contact after the interaction. Obviously, I took this as, "no thanks" and ejected.

I thought about how I approached her later, and realized I should have used an opener about how cute she looked in her outfit, or some kind of compliment. I definitely came on WAY too strong in my opener and it's clear she rejected me pretty quickly.

Overall, I glad I did it because I've never approached a girl with those kind of intentions. Now I know I should definitely change my approach up.

Things I did wrong: - I was not dressed to go out(I was in my work uniform and did not plan on staying as long as I did) - Piss poor opener and did not receive any prior IOIs - A lot

Things I'm proud of: - I approached a girl at a bar with the sole intention of trying to seduce her for the first time ever

I know I've got a long way to go, and a lot more to learn, but I made a first step tonight. I'm proud of that.

TL:DR I approached a girl I found attractive at a bar and failed miserably, but I'm proud of myself for doing it
