For starters, I've been reading a lot of info from the stuff in the sidebar, and applying it as best as I can. I think it's helping a lot.

Ok, so here's the first date in a nutshell: I took a girl from the gym out to dinner, I probably tried too hard to impress her, but we did end up kissing, although there was a weird vibe about it, and she did say she would like to see me again before she went inside.

Since then we've been fb messaging a bit, and planned to see her at the gym and show her a few exercises for her knee, which is bothering her after hiking this weekend. One major difference about tonight was my attitude about expectations. Tonight I was completely separated from any specific outcome. Having said that, I was generally flirty, taught her some exercises and was pretty professional about it, as it IS my job. I also mentioned that I could pick her up over my head with one hand. She looked like she didn't believe me, so I did a Turkish Get-up with her. If you don't know what that is, look it up on YouTube. I know she was genuinely impressed with how strong I am. After that she offered to help me clean up the gym before I shut it down. I'm thinking if she can cook, maybe I should wife her. Lol. Next we walked around for a while and talked about life, and more specifically, I revealed my struggle with alcoholism (I'm 4.5yrs sober, thank God). She has a couple of family members that are still active, and could relate on a lot of levels. I'm thinking the combination of 1) detachment from the outcome of our interaction, 2) showing off my physical strength a bit, and 3) being open about a real struggle in my life endeared me more to her. I think this because when I gave her a ride home SHE kissed ME... and I mean REALLY kissed me. I actually kinda hate that my truck has a console in the middle instead of a bench seat. I might have to fix that.

Our next date is her coming over to my place Friday night to watch Netflix, and she's bringing ice cream :)
