First of all, thank you seddit. Never would have happened without you. I'm going to splut up this ~16 hour period of awesomeness.

A friend (now decidedly my favorite wingman ever) and I are at a baseball (day) game, chilling and knocking back stupidly overpriced beers. We leave our seats for another round and discover they have just closed all the beer stands. Problem = opportunity. We find an adjacent bar that allows reentry, plan is just to grab a shot and a beer and head back in until...

1) HB7 offers us test tube shots. We oblige, I ask her to pick the flavor out for us, and we get to talking. Turns out she's about to graduate a really good school in the area (turn on) and she's a pretty down to earth, funny girl. One thing I did right was be aware of my time window - she had some time to talk b/c the bar was dead, but not a ton - so I quickly shifted the convo to her work hours.
she says probably an hour or so after the game. Told her to give me her number so we could meet up after she got off work. Of course she abided. FUCK YEAH. Should have had her spell her name though, because I have no idea what the fuck she said.

We go back in and watch the rest of the game, then go to meet up with friends who had been watching at a bar nearby. I text the girl while in line: "Hey it's the_rival_cycle. Good meeting you earlier. Come to suchandsuch bar when you're done. Bring your coworkers." Thoughts on this? Never got a response, so something must have gone wrong somewhere in the chain. She seemed down to hang out after, but I think I detected some hesitation when she gave me her number. Is it good policy to do the "I'll call you so you have my number" just to see if their phone actually rings?

The place was downstairs, dark, and they were playing sweet music, so it felt like 10:00 even thought it was only 5:00. Me and my friend and a few others are just dancing in the booth at, totally instate. There are 3 girls who are friends of friends there and we start talking to them until we find out one of them is engaged to the dude across the table (this happened entirely too many times over the course of the night). 2 leave to go get drinks or something. I think to myself, "alpha means fuck seating arrangements" so we play some musical chairs and I start talking to the cutest of the 3 (HB7). She's a good time, but has a boyfriend back in some other state, blah blah whatever.

Least attractive of the 3 throws a shitfit when I try to playfully (guess it didn't come across as so) refuse to give her the seat back. How do I deal with bitchy friends? Luckily she just left shortly after that but they become more problematic later on in our story...

2) A 2-set, HB8+HB6 sit down at a table. I say "Yo, should we go talk to those girls before we leave?" and like a good wingman, he says yes. Neither of us have an opener, so we agree to just fuck it and he walks up and says "Hey, I've got nothing, but my name's [blahblahblah]." And it worked well enough! We started talking to them for a bit.

Here I did 3 things less than stellar though: a) wasn't in control of my body language and did some stuff that conveyed meekness. b) stepped away to take a phone call from the rest of our group waiting for us. c) didnt pull up chairs mext to them or anything. So it wasn't smooth or solid, they started to shoo us away when the food came, and HB8 denied my attempt at a #-close politely. What should I have done with the phone call though? Are there certain #-closes you prefer when you know the girl is on the fence? Might not have made a difference.

EDIT: Added last bit
