This is my first FR so let me start by saying how thankful I am to this community and the content we all create. I’m a recovering AFC, but I’ve made great progress and all thanks to you guys, so: thank you.

I’m from Santiago, Chile. All of this took place inside the subway, within the halls. 1st was a HB8,3: She was waiting for someone. My first thought was that she was foreign, so I opened with it.

Me: Sorry, are you… do you hear me? (she was listening music) HB8: yes, what? (her accent was clearly Chilean) Me: Oh, I see… you’re Chilean… HB8: (already smiling) Yes I am Me: pff, boring… HB8: hahaha, why? Me: I thought you were from another country and wanted to practice my English HB8: hahaha really?

So… it opened really well. We talked about half an hour. The problem with this girl was that being funny-carefree seemed more important to my brain than actually guiding the interaction and making a connection/escalating her. I’m a graduated filmmaking student, and she just got out of highschool, wanted to study Business related stuff, so I didn’t know how to actually establish a more intimate relation based on our conversation themes. Just for one moment I felt something deeper was going on, and was when she talked about her father and his work (who she really seemed to admire)… got a number and a suggested date to watch a movie.

Also relevant is the fact that, when she told me her name, I asked her if it started whit C or K (both possible, K less possible than C though)… K she said, and I felt that by just mentioning that I knew her name variant existed I won some extra point… I’ve been doing approaches for about 2 moths, but never really cared for making this guessing/assertive statements, but I feel they can really help if done well. Cold reading is the next step I suppose.

2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th were just compliment-practice (I like your style, I like the way you look, I had to tell you and so on) I’m having problems making them stay, without having to actually say “hey, give me 2 minutes!” Is there a better way, like intrigue them since the first moment?

Also, 9’s and 10’s won’t give me anything more than a haughty look and an “I’m really hurried” reply. I suppose this happens because of the openers I use, really direct and compliment-based…Maybe if I opened with a more neggy statement; open by breaking rapport like this guy

6th was a problem: she was a HB5… 6 at most. I saw her back, walking away from me, and without thinking about it I went for it. Opened with “I like your style” stuff. She was so fucking flattered. Each minute that passed I just wanted to eject and keep doing approaches… but she was so fucking happy! And I guess the feeling of having another human being happy for something that I said was kind of addicting… The greatest error I made was that she suggested we went out the station (remember, it all was inside the subway) and I agreed… I have no F’ing idea why I did that… but I lost my frame and fallowed hers. Once outside we sat down and talked about music and movies amog others. It was actually sad that I didn’t like her at all since she was a nice person. I felt the energy of the interaction getting more and more sexual: she got closer, hugged me, laugh at EVERTHIG I said, gave me bedroom eyes… I remember these things and giggle; it’s fucking amazing what you can achieve with a little bit of knowledge and a sub 7 HB. I remember being really relaxed during this interaction. I didn’t even reply to everything she said, I just talked about what I wanted to talk… Finally I said I had to go, and asked for her number and that I would take her somewhere… just to be polite.

Since I had made a false time constrain that was really distant (I have to meet some friends) I was trapped with her for about 35 minutes… What in the fucking hell could I have said to get out of the situation in a gently way.

TL;DR rAFC having some trouble with building comfort/escalating and making HB engage in conversation after opening. Also don’t know how to get rid of unwanted non-HB approached by mistake. Thak you for your time.
