While at the gym today, mid-way through a squat, a question popped into my mind of what gaming with good form would look like. As we know, lifting with good form is hugely important in ensuring that the right muscles are being targeted for growth and for preventing injuries. Without good form, our efforts become more inefficient, ineffective and potentially harmful.

So what does gaming with good form look like? How can we ensure we are maximizing every interaction for growth?

Some ideas I had:

  • Being present and listening actively throughout the entire interaction
  • Pushing the interaction as far as it can go (ie: always be closing)
  • Making sure key interaction points are hit (premise, rapport, qualify, etc.)

Lately I’ve been noticing sometimes I’ll open, have some nice short surface-level conversation for a min maybe two, end the interaction, walk away and then moments later wonder why I ended the interaction so soon. Or alternatively, sometimes I’ll be in a long set, talk for like an hour, and while the conversation is engaging there is ultimately little attraction or tension. And while sets like these still led to growth as a beginner, I am finding that no longer to be the case as an intermediate.

TLDR: What are the necessary components of gaming with “good form”?
