I've been in your place and fall victim to anger periodically. What I've found though is that anger becomes acceptance and acceptance becomes clarity.

I think you did a great thing for yourself approaching that group. It not only exemplifies your confidence but also demonstrates your social skills. Your roommate should not be undermining your efforts. I'm glad you stood up for what you believe in and expressed yourself.

Now here's what I see wrong. You can stand up for yourself and debate but you need not convince someone else that what you're doing is productive or meaningful. As long as you are proud of approaching women regardless of outcomes, that's all that matters. Don't become angry at someone else. Don't allow someone else to intimidate or threaten you because they get laid with ease. And lastly, the thing that will drive you most insane is comparing yourself or matching up with someone else. All you can do is compare yourself to who you were yesterday and continue to evolve and progress. The essence of being a man in my opinion is to be able to not take anyone too seriously (your roommate, your friends, women, and even yourself.) Let it all be a joke, a game but continue to put in the effort and you'll find success with women and life.

Probably the most beneficial thing you can do for yourself right now is drop the anger and drop this challenge you've placed on yourself to outdo your roommate. It may sting your ego, but take some time to reflect on the qualities that make your roommate so attractive to women that he doesn't even have to approach them. Learn from him. Destroy that ego of yours.

You both sound incredibly insecure: him because he feels the need to undercut his so-called friend in order to make himself feel better, and you for getting so needlessly worked up over it. Do yourselves a favor and start acting like a couple of men rather than school children fighting over who gets what toys.

I don't know how to say this, but JFK's term didn't end very well.

This is just bitch talk. The fact is, society teaches guys that their value is tied up in the type of women they can "pull." So guys get very emotional and defensive when its clear that you have a skill at getting girls that they don't. That's why so many guys get douchey and defensive when they are criticized here on r/seddit. Your friend is just projecting his own fear and insecurities on you.

You did great. You had no idea those girls were engaged when you approach them and you still made some new friends. That's awesome. And also, if the engagements falls apart your dick will have first priority for her mouth.

Being able to approach random people is a great skill to have. If you move to a great city like New York or LA, you can meet a lot of really awesome, interesting people just by approaching. When I lived in New York I would sometimes approach guys I thought looked interesting. And I'm totes not gay. I met a lot of really awesome, cool guys. One night I met a guy who owned the largest tie company in America, and he invited me on his boat the next day to party with models. It was awesome. One night I thought I had a date with a girl and she brought a dude friend over. Instead of getting angry, I befriended him and guess what -he invited me on a boat to party with models the next week!!

In fact, there are some articles that say that one of the main reasons that women get paid less than men is that they never learn the art of approaching random strangers (in the dating world), so they are less likely to approach and ask for favors, raises, promotions, etc..., and they are shittier and finding new clients and business prospects.

So, TLDR - you did well, fuck your friend.
