Hey seddit, I've been gone for awhile since my new apartment doesn't have internet, but I'm here to share a quick bit.

I met this chick last week, immediately began kino with her, she seemed interested. Saw her in the hallway at school, asked her if she wanted to go outside and chat for awhile. We sat on the stairs, I did the ring thing where you take her hand and look at her rings. She asked if you could check out my headphones, so I let her listen to them for a bit. Told her "Let's do something this weekend", handed my phone and said "I need your first, last, phone number, social security, and facebook password". In class I checked through my contacts to see if she put her last name. She didn't, so I text her "You didn't give me your last name... or your social security. She responds three hours later with a long message, conveys interest and give me her last name.

So over the weekend I text her:

Me: Sup sup girl

Her: Installing a printer

Me: Let's get together on Sunday

Her: When?

Me: 7:00

Her: Where?

Me: Just meet me in the quad.

Her: Sounds good

Her: Actually I for got I have to help my friend set up her refrigerator in her new apartment. I am very skilled at installing appliances.

Her: But we should

Me: How does Monday night sound?

Her: Sounds good! Let's play it by ear (This last remark from her I'm kind of suspicious about, sounds like a "I don't want to make plans but I'll lead you on" to me, do you guys get this ever?)

Come monday I'm chillin, thinkin' about when we're going to meet up. Text her at 3:30 "Hey lady whatsup?" at 6:30 "Just finishing up practice! How about you?" I didn't respond to that last text, I just waited about 45 minutes and called her. No answer. I figured I'd wait for her until about 8:30 before catching the bus home, and ended up texting her at 8:30 "I'm assuming you're busy installing some appliance..." Her: Hahahhaha I'm thinkin' to myself "Man, who does this chick think she is?"

I go chill with my friends, drink the wine that was meant for her and me, smoke some bud and walk back to my apartment. Lay down in my bed, pretty damn fucked up. The minute I close my eyes my phone vibrates and I think to myself "Better not be that girl...", low and behold, guess who it was.

"I never get calls I just checked and got your missed call!!"

Immediately my bullshit alarm, my crazy bitch alarm, and my "this chick reminds me intensely of my ex" alarm go off simultaneously.

The next day she comes up to me at school, punches me on the shoulder and says hey. I ask her,

"So what happened yesterday?"

"What do you mean what happened yesterday?"

"We were supposed to hang out, weren't we?"

"I checked late at night and saw your missed call!"

"Let me tell you something, I don't like flakey girls, so if you want to hang out with me don't flake."

"Were you pissed at me?"

"No, I just don't want you to get the idea that you can bullshit me."

"Well when do you want to hang out?"

"How bout you set a date and time, since the last two times I set up dates they didn't work out?"

"I was going to ask you to go to this show with me."

"Are you asking me on a date?"

"I'm asking you to go to a show."

"OK, when?"

"I'll text you when I know, and I won't flake on the text."

Normally I wouldn't be so worked up about this, but she's kind of a Manic Pixie Dream Girl, which I am a sucker for, and she really reminds me of my ex. The people I've talked to all think that it was bad of me to have called her out on it, but I feel like it's a sign of progress. I've had issues with being assertive for most of my life. Was I too aggressive? I tried to be as non reactive about it as I could, but she was getting worked up during our encounter. How do you guys deal with flakes/getting stood up?
