I want to keep this short, quick, and specific. I also want to preface this by mentioning I usually NEVER stick my pen in company ink. However, when I spot the new girl and want nothing more than take her home to meet my mother right then and there, I think I'll make an exception.
Probably should have spoken to her first to find out that she was currently in a serious LTR, but I digress. So I keep my cool and treat her like any other coworker. I'm friendly and strike up small informal chats when I see her around every once in a while. As time passes she quickly slides to the back of my mind while I'm out trying to get laid/find another one to take home to mommy. Well I never really find one that keeps me busy for long but all of a sudden I hear from a friend that the apple of my eye is now single. I was already facebook friends with her and had maybe one or two previous online conversations while she was with her now ex boyfriend. I haven't seen her around work lately so I immediately pull my phone out and try to start up a chat on facebook (I did this because I knew I would not be seeing her at all at work for a while due to time off and different schedules).
I'm receipted positively almost immediately. Things in my opinion are starting off great. We're talking all about our similar interests, creating inside jokes left and right, and vibing really well (or so I thought). I let things progress naturally and the topic of her being single comes up. She says it's for the better and she's moving in a more positive direction with life. I keep calm and continue to be 100% honest with everything I say and she mentions how much she appreciates my honesty with the situation. So I don't want to come off too hard here and risk scaring her off right after she just became single so I tone it down a tad. Still joking around and all that good stuff but I don't progress the conversations to a sexual nature for obvious reasons (Meaning I'm not in this for a lay, I want a LTR outa this). After a cool down period I decide it's time to come back online with my serious game face. It's her birthday today and I'm joking and she's laughing and innuendos are made and receipted well, so I want that meet up soon. I decide to for the number after a short lull in the conversation then I'll try to get a meet up after scoring that.
Well my last message about the # was seen at 5pm today and it's now well past midnight. I'm guessing that's a no? Anyway I believe I have three options to choose from now.
- Let her be and don't continue to go after her at all.
- Wait to see her in person to chat and ask her again for the #.
- Confront her here in the next few minutes with a, "That's a no then?" or something similar.
If you were in this situation what would you do?
