The first stuff I ever read was David Deangelo's material. Double Your Dating ebook first, then Attraction Is Not A Choice next. The Game is a good story in its own right but it's even more enjoyable when you are already familiar with some of the characters. Everyone on Seddit is going to recommend Models to you. I don't know if it's hands-on enough to actually be effective but reading it certainly won't hurt. 60 Years of Challenge is interesting too, but I would read that one last or else it won't make any sense (and even then, it might still not make sense.)
