I often hear people in their 50's and 60's talk about how they used to go to bars by themselves, there were women in the bar by themselves, and they would get matched up and go home together by the end of the night. This almost never happens these days- most people in the bar are in groups of at least two- often more. If they end up going to an afterparty, it is in groups also, which makes it hard for loners to take advantage of the bar scene.
