an observation: do women like selfish/self-centered men?

Women want men who are confident. Selfish, self centered men take what they want, often without regard for others. Hence, they swoop in on women and put themselves out there, appearing extremely confident to the woman. The nice guys don't generally do this because they either suffer from AA or don't want to harass the woman, thus appearing unconfident.

For me, to meet someone who's enthusiastic about their work, their hobbies, etc it makes me want to be around them more.

Also, when first meeting someone, having them talk about their life in a friendly and engaging way takes the pressure off of me. Simply sitting there asking a girl questions about herself over and over again, is boring and high pressure for her.

However, if this were a pattern of behavior (i.e. only ever talking about themselves/being selfish) over the course of a few dates/encounters then I'd drop them quick.

So, while this might work for a really drunken one night stand or to get a girl's phone number, I wouldn't keep it up.
