The standard method (à la Mystery) is befriend the friend.

However, new PUAs (inlcluding Tyler) show that this is not necessary. You don't have to "befriend the fucking friends", he says. Instead he does the opposite - he makes her go away by saying "NO SHE'S MINE!"

It is up to your calibration what to use. I'd say you are more the guy for the old method (befriend).

DON'T ignore the friend! Oh and yes a wingman is the easiest solution for bigger sets.

Oh I love 2-sets, they're easy. I tend to run canned routines on them, they work so well. I have a couple that are too good to share here, I don't want them to become well known and played out. But you can easily run known routines like Girl Code or BFF Test.

You can play this out several ways, but I usually open the woman I'm not interested in. Usually it's the hot one I'm interested in, and she's used to being the one that gets hit on. But when you open her friend instead, she feels left out and wants to get your attention. This is all standard "group dynamics" that most pua materials describe in detail.

Anyway, I'll give you a mini FR here, using the BFF test. This is straight out of "The Game. I was in a crowded bar, and I saw two really cute young girls both trying to sit on the same bar stool. It was padded and they were each kind of nudging the other one off, and then both trying to get one butt-cheek each onto the stool and get into a non-awkward position, without spilling their drinks or having their skirts ride up. I walked up to them..

Me: (roaring with laughter, pointing at them) You two crack me up, you are hilarious.
Girl 1: What?!
Me: I can just tell you guys are best friends.
Girl 2: How do you know that?
Me: Oh the way you were both trying to sit on the same barstool, it was so funny. Hey, I'll give you the BFF Test. Now I'm going to ask you both a question at the same time. Ready? Ok, do you both use the same brand of shampoo?
Girl 1 and Girl 2 look into each other's eyes for a second. They look like they're about to answer and I cut them off.
Me: (Laughs uproariously) I knew it, you are BFFs.
Girl 2: Well how did you know that? We didn't even answer!
Me: But you did, you passed the test. You looked at each other before answering, only BFFs do that.
Girl 1: It's true, we are best friends...

This sort of routine is supposed to be a DHV, it shows you have insight into the way women think. The women were laughing and smiling, and I was locked into the set.

You open the conversation on the one you aren't interested in, don't even pay too much attention to the girl you want at first. Then after a minute or so, when it's time to do the formal introduction you get both of their names. Make it seem like you went up to talk to her friend, not her at all, and once you had decided you were going to continue to talk to her and not walk away, you introduce yourself to the one you're interested in.

Like said before, this makes the hot one feel like she needs to get your attention, but it also warms her friend up to you.
