Girls dont really care about what youre saying, its how youre saying it. If you want things to talk about I suggest saying things to her that are funny to you at the current moment even if it's something small (self amusement). Beyond that you should take interest in her life whether or not you "relate". It is probably better you don't relate on material things like football or whatever else. As long as you agree on how you want to be treated the little differences in opinion dont matter. They increase the polarity of your relationship and therefore the sexuality of it too. So tease her about the little things playfully and see where things go.

I mean, you can always have a conversation about "how little you have in common" i.e. how different you are, right? Get into it. Then snap her a little Opposites Attract by Paula Abdul, that song is fucking awesome. Once you've established the concept of her as "artsy girl" (as opposed to your "party dude"), do an impression of her to her face, based on this "artsy" concept of her. ("Should I use oil paints? Or acrylics? Hmmmm lalalaa" etc.) Infinite fun, by my calculations.
