Just tell her you had a cold sore and you're not comfortable with kissing tonight. Explain that they occur years apart and it's not a problem, but that you'd prefer to not take a chance of giving it to her.

First of all you have hit on a topic that is extremely important. It's too late now but if you go to the doctor they will prescribe you medicine that will eliminate that from happening. As soon as you feel just a little bit of tingling you take the medicine and it never morphs into an actual cold sore. I was told my whole life there is no medicine for that and then after September 11th 2001 for five months I had a cold sore. I had a girlfriend tell me that they have medicine now. However you have to take it within about an hour or two of feeling the red tingling.

Everybody knows it's a different form of Herpes and everybody who doesn't get cold sores loves to tell you. But the reality is that it's extremely embarrassing.

If my memory serves pink eye is actually a form of chlamydia.

Also, I had a roommate in college that went to a college party with a full-on cold sore and still picked up chicks got their numbers and went on dates with them he was an amazing guy. I could never do this and I would never do this

My suggestion is if you have insurance go get the medicine. Even if you don't need it right now because it is the type of medicine it if you wait to go to the doctor when you feel a cold sore starting, it is too late. I have not gotten a cold sore since February of 2002 and I usually get them 3 times a year.

This shouldn't affect you if you're self assured and confident in yourself. If she asks about it just say it's herpes and you aren't fucking tonight (hint: yeah you will).
