I've noticed my text game sucks. Especially with strangers..

Usually I like to have a mini-conversation with a girl before deciding if I want the number or not.. but in some cases I just don't have the time. So I'll go for the number somewhat immediately but then I don't really know what to say.. also, I'll try to keep the texting to a minimum and make arrangements to meet up. Most of the time this doesn't go too well.. I'm not sure if I'm just not building enough comfort or attraction or what.. either way, its not something I'm good at judging over text - especially with women I've just met.

Are there any comprehensive guides on text game? I can't say that text game is a focus of mine rn but it is an area I feel like I'm lacking in and Could mean the difference between a date/lay and not. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
