When someone is asking who wants to go first for something, people usually get the impression that they need to say "I'll go first," or wait for someone else to say that, but here's something that I've been using to give myself social worth, show confidence, and leadership.

What you do is choose for other people.

Like this:

I'll use an example from one day in my college english class.

We were just doing the whole, "Let's do a little diddy about going 'round da room, have ppl read one bi one paragraph" Usually, when the teacher brings this up, everyone goes silent for a few moments.

So I decided to say, "Ralphfred (my friend) wants to go first!" then smile and looked him straight in the eye. What happens is that everyone will laugh at my sudden break in tension in this new way and the tension is then put on Ralphfred from people expecting him to react. Adding the stare off puts even more weight on his shoulders too, since now everyone has given me approval. My look then borrows the power of everyone else's anticipation, so then naturally, the target will then say "Sure, I'll do it," because it is the easiest way to relieve the tension.

  • Since he complied, I got the leader of men value.
  • Since everyone laughed, I got social value.
  • Since I broke the tension with something slightly bizarre I showed people my confidence.

Smiling while doing it and having some rapport with the person that you're doing it to are essential to this. Without rapport, would still work but it could just make people angry sometimes unless they are just a naturally submissive person, or a girl would work to, but I haven't tried that yet. If someone does try it, PM me the results.
