Hey r/seduction, I need help with a conversation opener (no not pick up lines) I can thread but I suck at opening.

The key is to stay congruent to what's on your mind. If you think 'I have nothin to say' then you will have nothing to say. If you really can't come up with anything, then go for straight 'I thought you seemed interested and wanted a better look' or some variation. Not a cheesy 'pick up line' and likely closest/congruent to what you were actually thinking.

you: Hello, my name is ______. What's your name?

her: My name is Kathy. (possibly she gives you more here).

you: What do you do for fun, Kathy? (I always use her name here. I am shit with names so it helps me remember. It's also nice and makes her think about your name. You need her to remember your name.)

You can ask her what she likes to do for fun, or what she does for a living/studies depending on your age.

You might get the urge to get fancy, but if you struggle with opening I'd just ask about her work or hobbies, it's pretty easy to generate a nice conversation from those areas. Once you get to talking you can make yourself stand out, but keeping it simple is the best way IMO, especially if the opening isn't your strong point.

This may come off as too fancy, but i'd give it a try. Study the room. Find the guy that is totally blowing it with a chick, or find someone that's ridiculously dressed or something. Go up to the girl you're interested in, and point it out to her. Its a good ice breaker.
