Hey Seddit, lurker here. So today I had probably what I would consider one of my most successful experiences talking with a cute girl. I was heading over to my biology lab. This class was really hard to find and kind of hidden (no signs anywhere and had to go through some sketchy areas to find it). I finally managed to find the class, and arrived a little bit early. Everyone was waiting in the hall for the teacher to arrive, and so I took the opportunity to start up a conversation. I made a joke about how hard the class was to find, and asked them if they had as hard of a time finding it as I did. I was talking to a group of 3 other people, 2 girls and a guy, who were all pretty chill and easy to talk to.

Eventually class started, and the HB and I, who we'll call Sammy, ended up sitting together in the back row of class. Bio lab is a 3 hour long class, and everyone was working in pairs on the assignment, so I had lots of time to talk to Sammy about basic college small-talk (what her major was, classes, etc). We had a pretty light hearted conversation, I made a joke about being one of the only freshmen in the class( It was a small class of ~20 people, most of whom were sophomores, including Sammy), as well as poking fun for being a math major in a pre-med field. Eventually, we just focused mainly on the assignment so we would have time to finish. As the class was ending, the teacher assigned a group project to everyone, which required some outside research. So me and Sammy grouped together for that as well.

After class ended, we discussed when we could possibly meet up to work on the project. I asked her for her number so we could organize when we would work on the project. Not sure I can really read anything into though, considering it was kind of necessary for the project. Afterwards, we were discussing where we were headed to next, and we both had some time to kill. I suggested we go grab something to eat, which she agreed was a good idea. She suggested the place to go, and then offered me a ride on her scooter (kinda awkward, but at least it allowed me to sort of escalate kino).

We went to go grab lunch, but I started having trouble escalating the conversation. At one point she asked me what I did for fun, and I had a hard time answering that question. My school is a huge party school, but that's never really been my thing. I tried emphasizing I prefer playing/watching sports over going to parties, but I kind of felt like it made me seem kind of beta. What could I have said here to make me still seem interesting and fun rather than just lying, or caving and saying I'm no fun?

After lunch we both had to go to our next class, but we planned to meet up in a week or so to work on the project. I have her number, but i'm not entirely sure how to text her emphasizing my interest. Any ideas?

TL;DR: working on a school project with a HB from my class, went out for lunch. Where should I go from here?
