I wonder if anybody does this even after years of having no contact and how they went about it. In my experience, it's useless as contacting someone out of the blue seems odd and usually a woman would go first if enough interest is there. I think the only way it would make sense is if one had a reason as in"Hey, I was just in your city ..and" But even then.
