I actually don't like introducing myself until later in the interaction because I find that it sort of makes things feel more official and less spontaneous, like declaring that you're officially trying to hit on them rather than just having some banter - and I feel like that can actually make the interaction head a bit south afterwards (unless they're very interested in you).

When do you usually introduce yourself, and do you make a big deal of it or just do it subtly?
