How can I pull numbers from girls at their workplace?

Picking up girls at the workplace is still something I avoid, namely because it can get them into trouble and put them in an uncomfortable position. They may want to talk to you, but their looming manager may prevent them from doing so. Alternatively, they may have no interest, but their manager forces them to make small chat with customers. Depending on the workplace, the presence of coworkers can have an either larger impact on how receptive they are than friends would if they were out (rightfully so - many of us have a great deal more concern for our professional reputation than our personal).

My advice?

If it's a food place, become a regular. If she/other people who work their recognize you, it becomes fine if you make small chat in which you can escalate (Will you have the usual? Actually, no - I'm in a fantastic mood today, let's change things up. What do you think I should try? What's your favorite? Awesome. Hey - let's go out after work sometime).

If it's a retail place, ask a girl for advice - this works incredibly well (What color do you think works for me best? You think I'm a large, so you're saying I'm fat?).

Beyond that, I shy away from trying to pick up girls in a professional office setting. Way too much potential for it to blow up in their faces (HR, coworkers, disapproving, etc.) that they are rarely in a state where they will be receptive.

I agree with mrbrinks, becoming a regular really helps. As a regular, its almost too easy to pick up girls at their workplace (I assume were talking bartenders/servers here). The comfort level quickly escalates the more they see your face, so, it is easier to talk to a girl to get a better read of their body language/actions towards you.

VeryVariegated is also right about it showing if they seem to like you on a personal level. The girl is going to be giving you signs shes interested, so keep doing what it is you do to start talking to them, neg hit, tease, etc.

I've had some success by asking for it on coasters, and hopefully remembering to txt her before I use it for beers at home. Teasing about how boring she is, if shes more fun outside of work...using a smartphone to challenge her to simple games (think iphone games), or making a bet with her for some money, and when you win, give her a break by taking her number instead.

Also, I try not to play around and ask go for the number pull if shes weeded, shes not in the right state atm. Way better to spark her interest when shes bored and looking for something/someone to save her from it.

I recently felt the same and left her place of work kicking myself. However I went back with a (good enough reason) I just discretely slipped her my number and she txtd me 30 minutes later. 2 dates and a 3rd coming soon.

You don't pull anything. You just be nice and let people do their job. How many times a day do you think they get hit on by creeps? Maybe you don't think you're a creep, but I'm guessing after being hit on all day makes them perceive you as one. Just be nice, if they seem to like you on a personal level I think it might show.
