How do I ask for a second date?

Did you mention anything you liked that she hadn't tried before? Normally, I talk about a film I really like or a place I want to visit, then use that for the second date. Did anything like that come up?

Specific. Don't get wishy washy. I know you might be thinking about the possibility that she won't be available if you pick a specific time.

That doesn't matter. If she's down, she'll offer an alternative time and/or be encouraging.

And yeah, as the other guy inferred, you really ought to consider that first date to be a time to gather info. Well anytime you're with her, you should be paying attention. Talking about things you like to do, activities that you like, these are no brainer topics you should be hitting on.

The second date could easily be ripe for the picking by the end of the first date, if not scheduled.

You should always seed into her ideas for a second date, usually telling her things that you like to do.

For example I like cooking and I like to do different dishes. So typical I tell her that I will use her as a guinea pig for a new dish and we will cook together, but she will have to bring the dessert.

Maybe you play the guitar or an instrument, so you tell her that you will show her the new song you are into and you will teach her how to play it.

Also with this girl, you should move on.
