How do I slide into an old classmate dms

For me, the easiest way to slide into any dms in Instagram is to reply to a story

Honestly just go for it. I'm not great with social interaction, but I think it's best to just start with a "Hey", and ask them how they are doing (or been doing if you used to talk but haven't in awhile), maybe ask what they're doing atm. The key to having a good conversation is asking a lot of questions.
