Play it out as a funny joke. Tell him about how adorable his bed head is, or his buffness (if he isn't buff), and then give him a wink or something and make the class laugh, assuming you're the one that normally jokes around

Always go with what has a grain of truth. Sexiness is so easily apparent in those that are so comfortable with themselves, that they can appreciate great qualities in others.

So don't think of this gentlemen as a threat you need to show your dominance over. You already know you are amazing. This man isn't your competition, but a peer and a colleague. Remember, only those that are completely confident in themselves happily can give out compliments to others without the underlying fear of diminishing themselves in the process

What do you admire about this guy? Don't look for some pre-made quote, but for where the truth lies. Better yet, what is something you love about yourself that you see reflected in him? Focus on that, and frame it that way

Let's say I see a girl (since I am a female) that has incredibly unique and daring style, and always wears it well. I might say "I admire your self confidence, and how you seem completely self aware and comfortable. It helps to reinforce the same traits in myself, to see them portrayed so well in another."

Wut? Some context would help here. And besides, who cares about the guys? The only guy you ever have to compliment is your boss, and then you say "I compliment you on your excellent choice of hiring me" and then you never compliment him again.

I would use this as an opportunity to go to the women in the class, tell them you're not sure if you sound sincere when you give compliments, and then ask them if you could get together to practice. And then for gods sake don't compliment them on their appearance. Every chump does that. Compliment them about their intelligence, or whatever intangible thing they have going for them.
