Don't focus in women at first, stand off a bit and try to connect with the sounds and atmosphere. If you're in a good place physically and mentally then things will go better.

The louder the music, the more that body language counts. But it can't be faked it... it only looks right if you're physically comfortable with the venue and with yourself.

Social proof comes from being friendly with everyone including employees, guys and girls. If it's difficult at first, start by standing in one place and only interacting with the people who come close to you.

You're on a date. That's social proof. Be a good date and try not to complain, but after the date, let her know that that's not your scene. Let her know what you like. Then invite her to something that you like and see if she likes it.
