I remember reading a post here about early conversation topics a long time ago, and this one has worked as a charm for me. I don’t remember the Redditor, otherwise I would credit them.

I’ve used this as my go to general topic whenever there’s a natural break in the conversation at any event where she knows people.

It almost always makes her mention her good friends first, and how they met each other and often a few cool things about them. A lot of opportunities to expand upon, and she will most likely have an emotional connection to them.

If she’s shy, doesn’t really know anyone there, or just shows a lack of interest, then you have a natural way to tell how you know the people there and take the conversation to what you think is fun or interesting to talk about.

As long as you have fun, and show interest, it will work with people that find you interesting or attractive. It won’t work on everyone of course, but I’ve had great success with it.
