How do you use push/pull effectively and give compliments without being creepy or needy?

You can always rely on the classic -

When something goes really well in the conversation and there's a big spark, you can pull by saying "See, now I KNOW we're not going to get a long...(give a nice pause, they might even push you)..we're practically the same."

Search for "craig ferguson with the ladies" on YouTube and watch them all. He is a master of push-pull. Try and break down what he is doing yourself especially when the woman get excited or even (mock) angry with him.

There are some videos where people do break down exactly what he is doing but try and do it by yourself initially.
