Chances are, if you have been good friends for years it's not happening.

In turn, seek other women. Clearly if you haven't been dating in years then this just is coming from a place of desperation (you're close/comfortable with her, so you feel little to no risk in trying to push your luck)

If you value her friendship, then clearly continue it. If you don't, and just want something more then distance yourself for both of your sake.
