Don't compliment them on things they have no control over. Recognize personal effort and praise that. Also be specific and put some effort into it. "You are gorgeous" vs "I love the Zoey Deschanel look you have going on with your bangs and cute glasses".

Only comment after you 'NEG'. the compliment should be unique to that person. No general compliments such as 'your so pretty', etc.

She will accept ur compliment but ask about your 'NEG' in which u go into a story that will hopefully make her laugh. Avoid too many compliments, but show interest thru kino.

Think of it this way:

A compliment slightly alters your relative value to hers. By complimenting her, you are raising her up. The more you do this the lower you become relative to her. Soon she can't help but think, "i am damn hot/great/smart/etc, why am i with this not-as-hot/great/smart/etc guy?"

Use the push/pull to your advantage. Give her a back-handed compliment. For example, "Nice hair style. I see a lot of girls pulling that one off." or "Those are cute shoes/shirt/dress. I saw another girl wearing them and you wear them better, but just barely." or "You have the third cutest smile I've seen all day."
