Some people will tell you texting is for business only (scheduling and confirming). Text her a couple times in the days leading up to the date. Keep communication light and fun. It keeps you fresh in her mind and sort of reminds her why she agreed to go out with you in the first place.

You can usually get a feel for how receptive she is to that form of communication depending on how she responds. If she's curt in her responses and doesn't seem interested in the text thing, dial it back a bit and just wait until the day of the date to confirm logistics. Some girls enjoy texting and you may end up having full on conversation with her back and forth if the chemistry is good right off the bat.

There is no "right way" to text a girl. There's a lot of different opinions on how to interact with a girl through text on seddit, and all of it has worked for people at some point. It's up to you to find a strategy that works for you. For me, I know if I text too much, I tend to over-do it and then just turn into a chatty Cathy, so I forcibly refuse to text a girl. Set up a date, let her cool for a few days, then text the day of to confirm.

I've also texted girls without meeting for weeks, then met them and fucked them silly. If you're going to text a girl a lot, don't be friendly. Be sexual. For instance, the girl I texted a bunch made an off-hand joke about her neighbor having loud sex a lot, so literally every time we talked, I just started asking about her neighbor and making shit sexual. I didn't care how the conversation started.

Her: How was work?

Me: Probably not as good as your neighbor's crazy orgies.

Queue 20 minutes of raunchy texts.

After making plans we kind of left it on where we are meeting, time, etc and then we haven't texted since. I'm curious what you guys think is the proper way to go about continuing conversation, or do I just hold off until day of event etc.

I've noticed sometimes if I don't keep up conversation like normal the girl is more likely to flake. What do you think?

There is no rule for this. Some girls like to text, some don't.

I had a date with a girl last month: we talked on a Monday or Sunday about hanging out on Saturday and we texted for hours every day up to that date and beyond.

I have a date tonight and this girl, while perfectly fine in person and good about not flaking on meet-ups, is terribly flaky about holding up her end of a text conversation. So I don't bother with her.

There. is. no. rule. You play it by ear on a case-by-case basis.

I text leading up to it.

I tend to poke fun of them about whatever date we've set up. I call her out on her ability to handle <insert whatever we're doing> and they typically try and validate. It's led to some hilarious banter and builds the tension nicely.

I tend to stick to a practical question shortly (a day, an hour) before the date, with an element of funny 'inside joke' banter mixed in. Just to male sure she didnt forget.

But it depends on the situation, really, in particular on how often you guys texted before agreeing on the date.
