How should I go about approaching someone knows who I am, even though we have never spoken before?

I'm no expert, but if they know your name and you know theirs, but nothing else, then just approach them as if you already know them.

If you've only had class with them or know them from a setting where it's not completely obvious that you know her, you can say something like "hey, I think I had you in BullshitClass 101?" Or sub that class for whatever vague relationship you two have. If it's that Facebook relationship you can still be like "Jessssssica right?? Youre the one on Facebook always sharing doge memes right??" Or something slightly embarrassing like that.

If you worked with them more closely and you know each other's name, I would treat them more friendly, but that depends on how closely you two have worked. Like if you know each other's name and have worked in a group before but never really talked much besides that, yeah I'd start playful flirting with them right off the bat as if I know her.

Source: My major is 95% women and our classes are too big to know everyone, but small enough to recognize each other in other classes. Girls get socially awkward about this "I know of them but I don't know them" situation too lol

Im in this situation also. All the girls i could talk to i know but havent spoken to, and im not sure how to go about it

Easy go up to them say "Hey I think I know you from (whatever you know them from) hows it going?" Drop their name if you know it or if you don't remember just ask they probably will have a vague memory as well.
