Be Specific: Instead of saying; I went to the market and bought some food then I went home and ate it, it was the BEST food ever.

Say something like this;

So I was out of food, and I was fucking starving I had eaten just 2 hours earlier and then I hear the LOUDEST sound ever from my stomach (slap your stomach). I bet my neighbours thought it was an earthquake (go louder with your voice). That's when I decided to go to walmart, since my fridge was all empty (sadface) :( I was packing in everything, chocolate, crisps, some beer and just as I am heading to get the DiGorno Original Frozen Pizza there's only one left. I catch eye with this girl (catch eye with a girl in the group or something), she's quite cute seem 20-ish with white shorts and a red top (look at the girl in the group from top to toe). She's looking at the pizza and I figure she also wants one... I feel the panic inside myself (facial expression) rising and I speed up (gesticulate moving faster), the girl is also going faster. I raise my speed... (even faster) Right here in walmart I see a girl who wants the same thing as me and we have racing contest for the DiGorno Frozen Pizza. I MADE IT. I FKING GOT THE PIZZA. I AM SO HAPPY. I go to the cashier and give her the BIGGEST SMILE(smile), she asks me even if I got engaged or something since I seemed so happy, I answered her; almost. This is better. I drive home, If there was a cop nearby they would have thought I was a murderer due to how fast I was going.. I turn on the oven, I just sit there on the floor with my eyes on the thermometer to see when I can put in the DiGorno Pizza. It's time. I go to the fridge and get out one of those beer I got earlier. It tastes so good and I sit down again with my eyes, this time on the pizza. It's finally time. I cut it up in slices and when I have the first bite, IT TASTES SO DAMN AMAZING (Orgasm face+moaning). I enjoy every single bit of it. I even counted how many bites I made. 79. 69 would've been cooler but 79 bites of AMAZING pizza. That night, I slept better than I ever have.

When I use ( ) it's something you can do while telling the story, but there's definitely more to do in there :)

I'd like to ask you guys for any tips or thoughts on this area and what would be a good action plan to become an inspiring and engaging storyteller?

The most engaging story teller i know, is a female friend of mine. Whenever she tells a story she puts her whole body into it, waving her hands in broad gestures, using her face to point out the emotions she felt when the story happened, what others looked like etc. Also her voice changes accordingly, you can really feel how passionate she is about that story she tells. If you are familiar with european culture, french to be exact, there is a guy named louis defunes, he was very successful comedy actor in the 80's. He has a simliar style of acting, very overdramatized, but still funny.

Im with you OP. Yes I could tell a story, but sometimes its difficult cause i don't put too much detail, so i leave people like "whaa' ok". I know reading is a good source but what else.
