You could use the stiches as a tool for a great story.
Allowing some of your personal life to be known may not always be a bad thing.
No need to push it off, being comfortable with it will help.
You will be dieing to go out with said person for 2 weeks. Do you want to push it back?

Dude just tell her the truth. You had surgery on "x". You're kinda shy about it and you want to see her when it heals. Only thing is you gotta keep her interested until then.
