How to escalate online?

This might not be exactly the kind of info you want, but I just ask them out for a beer or coffee. Normally by the second or 3rd message. Works well. In fact, here, this is my entire 'game':

1st message: No introduction, jump straight to short, funny story that they can relate to (normally something about asking a girl out on a date, but where she rejects me in a humourous way). This makes them think about dates, about how I'm funny and shows them a way out so they relax. Then I normally end it with an introduction. Something like, "Hey I'm so and so, nice to meet you." That's it.

When they reply, they normally tell me I'm funny. Or something else that indicates they've empathized.

2nd message: I play around with how they replied with regards to my original story. Normally try to make myself out to sound kinda dumbfounded about how I screwed it up without ever sounding negative about it. Then, if they asked me a question (for me, normally about my dog.. BTW, dogs are date magic), I answer it honestly. And finally I say, "So, yeah, want to get a coffee sometime? Or even better, a beer?"

That's it! Photo of me with dog, funny self deprecating story and then straight to the point. Take some advice from the guys who work in sales. It's a numbers game. The more people you engage, the more opportunities you have to close a deal. If they won't bite after a few messages, move on.

I ask them out on the 1st message. Remember this; the more messages you send back and forth before meeting, the less likely it is that you're ever going to meet.

The way I do it:

Subject is something random to grab their attention. Like "No Child Should Go Unbeaten"

Body would go something like: Don't you agree? And if anybody asks, little Timmy ran into the door! But seriously, I like your profile. You seem cool. Drinks sometime soon?

Protip: 1st date should always be meeting up for drinks on a weekday.

Edit: Sure, what do I know? I've only been averaging 2 new meets a week. But go ahead, downvote away.
