How to get better at (date) conversations?

It seems like there aren't any. All material on this relates to being more confident, assuming the lack of things to say stems from there. For me I'm 100% confident & I say everything I feel I need too. Unfortunately that's not enough and it seems my crush is stuck carrying the conversation.

I've begun the process of quitting THC so I'm not partially stoned all the time (only ever smoke at night for sleep). Past that all I can suggest is reading more books & spending as little time alone as possible. Spending time alone got me really really good at keeping myself entertained by myself. That's not a good skill to shift your equilibrium towards. I'm trying to undo it now.

Don't think about what to say. Be in a positive/active state and just say whatever pops out and calibrate after the fact. Eg if you were mumbling and she didn't understand you: sorry I don't articulate very well (got any tips?). If nothing pops out your mouth 'sry I wanted to say something super important but I forgot what it was, I like you're necklace though'. just thought these examples up in 0 seconds, the point is what you say matters only very little but the emotion that you express will matter a lot so concentrate on that and not on the words.

Also it's pretty normal for a conversation to die down after a while (if its just random girls at a bar), you're not a hostage to the conversation so eject before that happens, go back to your friends, for a while and then jump back in. Not all women will be interesting to you so it"s perfectly normal that some conversations/women will be terribly boring

Try also to use more statements when speaking since that gives her more options in which direction to take the conversation and will get her to ask some questions and thus more invested. Also be aware of you're surroundings which can often be a good starting point for a new conversational thread. To make conversations less superficial try to empathise with her and find out Why she likes certain stuff and be genuinely interested.
