Background- I went out with a friend this past weekend. I knew exactly what needed to be done, what I should say, and how to do it. I see a 4 set. Friend tell me it's all me, he's gonna hang back because he's not interested in any of the girls in the group. I approach, I open. I freeze. I couldn't figure out what to say when in a group alone other than to ask how they know each other, and one or two other basic openers. I couldn't determine who to make eye contact with, how to position, anything.

What should I do when I'm in a big group alone?
