Long story short (made an older seddit post about it if you're curious), have known a great girl for a while who I dated briefly four years ago. I broke it off because of the circumstances, and then she comes back into my life. We reconnect, I charm the shit out of her, and then she tells me she has a boyfriend and almost broke up with him, but it wouldn't work with me because I don't have faith. She told me she loved me about 5 times, but she can't talk to me anymore and to please respect her wishes.

I didn't freak out on the phone and told her I understand, and she asked me why I was being so nice and wasn't arguing. I really did understand, though, and I told her if she wanted to keep eating hamburger helper while she's got filet mignon in the fridge, that's her prerogative (Jay-Z line). Anyways, our last conversation went for about 3 hours (I know...), and she ignored her boyfriend to keep talking to me. I just didn't know how to end it to keep her interested and to stay in her mind in case she ever changes her ways or her mind. Any advice? I obviously haven't contacted her since, but damn if it's not hard. I'm going with just break all contact, date other women, make myself better? I'm really close with her family, so I know I'll either see/hear from her again.
