Acquaintance to friend is easy. Just hang out with them, talk to them, listen to them. Be around.

Transitioning from friend to girlfriend is unlikely. Ah, the friend zone phenomenon. Stay in it too long and you could be in it forever!

You're posting on this subreddit, so I'm assuming you have romantic intentions towards this girl. In that case, I'd highly recommend not becoming her friend yet, and setting an entirely romantic tone right from the start. Friendship will come later.

Find a way to get some alone time with her. Talk to her with confidence, escalate kino (different levels of touch - arm, small of her back, her waist), and maybe ask her out on a date. Be kind, but be assertive - own the situation, girls like that.

9/10 a girl will know if she wants to pursue something with someone within a few minutes. If you're friends already, it's probably too late.
