I'm a 17 y/o HS student and I'm an introvert. Sometimes people get confused about introverts so here's a link to explain it. http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/2Rq4SN/jerrybrito.org/post/6114304704/top-ten-myths-about-introverts

I get frustrated by boring and/or stupid people. That is honestly one of the main things that stop me approaching strangers in public. When I'm at a small party/gathering and I can connect with people on a more personal level I do generally fantastically. But because I don't make new friends easily I don't get invited to a huge amount of parties and this is one of my main problems. The majority of people are of an average level of humour/intelligence etcetera and although I'm not proud of it I don't have much patience for people who aren't intelligent or who have a terrible sense of humour. I'm a very sarcastic and satirical and most people misinterpret this initially. Now, generally speaking more than 50% of people will be either average or less than average. So, when I'm on the bus home for example, I don't really chat with anyone because the chances are that I won't enjoy their company and will then be forced to remain polite and make small talk due to social norms. And I'd honestly rather listen to music and think. So basically what I'm asking is: is there anyway for me to meet more people without being extroverted or will I have to become more outgoing and make small talk? Sorry if I sound aloof or arrogant and I understand that this may be a confusing question but any help would be appreciated.

Sorry for the odd question!
