I've been moving around a lot lately and felt like I don't have a lot of time to date. However, I was getting tired of being single and alone. I recently read No More Mr. Nice Guy which totally changed my views on dating and relationships. Fast forward to today. I'm at the doctor's office with my grandma and in comes this drop dead cutie nurse. I knew I would regret it if I didn't talk to her. I begin just asking a few basic questions about her. Eventually when I get her alone I cut straight to the chase: "What's your ethnicity? Oh wow, it's beautiful (I'm not that eloquent when thinking on my feet lol). Would you like to get dinner with me?" Number closed just like that.

Maybe you wouldn't consider that rejection. But the phone convo hasn't really gone anywhere since, so I just decided to drop it. If she reinitiates cool, otherwise no skin off my back. As Robert Glover says in No More Mr. Nice Guy, we live in a world of abundance. Some other cutie will come along. One who is more interested in keeping the convo going. In the meantime I'll continue to workout and invest in myself. Maybe she wasn't interested because I was a little nervous talking to her. What can I say, it's been a while and she was very attractive. Or maybe because I had just thrown on some clothes before the appointment as opposed to dressing my best.

Either way, I'm glad I got back into it. If I hadn't asked her out it would keep me up all night thinking about how I chickened out, and what could have been. I went out on a ledge. That's an accomplishment. There's a line from Scrubs that goes something like "every time you take a big risk in your life, no matter how it ends up, you're always glad you took it." I can testify to that.

Fuck. This is fun. I gotta get back into it.
