I recently came across seddit, and have been trying to get as much info as possible on everything possible. It seems like everything I need to be successful, I don't have. I'm 19 years old, and kind a weird, loner kid. I don't think I am ugly, but I am like 20-30lbs overweight, and have been working my weight. My self confidence is beyond shit, and it makes it very hard to approach girls. On top of that I went to a club with my friend a couple months ago and got rejected by some girl I asked to dance with, which killed the bit size self confidence I had left. It was the first girl I approached in a long time and got shut down. I know it shouldn't be a big deal, but I was really embarrassed, and have yet to talk to a girl since then. The friends I have seem to have no problems talking to girls, and pick them up all the time so I feel like I drag them down when I go to parties with them, so I have been staying home a lot recently which adds to the problem. My friends are also better looking and buffer than me so it makes the situation even harder. One of my friends invited me to a party tomorrow but, as sad as it sounds, I am scared to go. I know I have the ability to talk to girls I just have a hard time putting it into action, my body just won't work when I try, my legs won't start walking over, my lips won't start talking. I know the one thing I need is self confidence, and today I repeated in my head over, and over "I am awesome", and it worked for a while, I felt a little confident, until I saw a friend who knows me for who I really am, and the facade went away, I acted how I normally act. For some reason I didn't want him to think I was trying to act different or anything... I really need help, and any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
