Honestly, have a fucking talk with HB7. Both of you guys are playing a guessing game on how the other person feels and it's detrimental to the both of you. Sit down, talk to her, see how she feels about you and move on from there. Otherwise you're gonna just keep guessing.

Exactly what the other guy said. All you gotta do is initiate the "hey I got something to ask you" conversation. It just depends on how the night is going. If it has a serious tone just match that. If the tone is fun and playful, match that.

But match to the tone of the conversations you all usually have. But light with an opening for bigger talk, or it can just stay as is.
Generic like that. Most girls will know what that means. If she wants to talk, that will be her signal. If all is cool, she'll laugh it off and you're good to go.

To clarify, do you have a movie date with the first girl or the new friend?
Also, you gave us the scenario and the background and even her level of interest but didn't include anything about how you feel. You say you're interested in escalating at the end there but to what? Sober hook ups or FWB or a relationship?
Give some more info OP. If you don't know the answer, do some introspection and go after what ever it is that will make you happiest.
I find that honesty is the best policy with women. You should have a decent level of comfort established with how much time you have spent together, just broach the subject and tell her what you want out of your relationship.

See about some light kino during the movie. Once credits are rolling and you have your arm around her, mention that you noticed her reaction to HB6. Don't give her time to rebuttal. Lead the conversation into how you've noticed other clues that show she is into you. From there, tell her that you are interested in committing to something more.
If she goes for it, boom, you're in for some new relationship, romantic sexy time.
If she doesn't, don't be heartbroken. Give her a winning smile and tell her you're fine with what you have going on. If you play it right, you should still be able to have a FWB (suddenly not alcohol exclusive) and make it tonight. *
