Dude, you are young. While I'm happy for you that you made a first step (and every first step is hard, trust me, I know that) I don't won't to discourage you, but I'll give you some advices for the future.That's why we're all here after all.

You want to form a question that would have a definite yes or no answer. Either she accepts or rejects you, anything in between is nothing and puts you in a limbo. Because most of the time a girl will not get back to you with an answer. I have way too many female friends and I know this, even if she wants to go out with you, she will usually not text you first. And don't be butthurt when that happens, simply ask her again like it never happened. You are the man. You move things forward, you move everything forward! That thing is not going to change now or ever. Like it or not, it's how it is. And my advice to you is, don't get scared because of it. Embrace it! Be happy that you're in controll. Sure, you will take responsibility for fall as well, but in time you'll learn to deal with it.

That being said. You don't want to ask a question at all. Make suggestions! Instead "Would you like to go out with me?" turn into "Hey, go out with me on location/time, it would be fun!". And in general learn to think more in this way, not asking questions, but making statements and assumptions, if she's going to reject you, she's going to reject you either way. But it's better with the second one. Be unapologetic about it! Be direct, bold and open, there's nothing wrong with taking girl out. Take a lead, like you're supposed to do.

Thirdly, this is going to sound like a downer and a serious mood killer. While it is cool to be happy and enthusiastic, I'm glad for you, do not let her or any other girl to be your purpose in life. Don't invest your complete mood on one text message, you do not want her to be the reason that you're happy in the morning, even if she's with you. Because when she or some other girl says no, you still have your own plans and life. It's even worse when you develop a relationship, and it ends. When that happens, you want to have your friends, hobbies, work.. yourself with you. So be happy and all, but chill.

Fourth, you don't know this now, but approaching, taking a number, and asking the girl out is one of the easiest parts of the whole process. The real "fun" begins after all that. If the first part makes you so anxious, the second one is gonna destroy you. And that's ok, you should experience some things. Try to have fun with it.

For the end, and the most important, since you're going to forget this whole comment of mine - read Models. Have you read it? Read it again. I wish I had that book in my early years.

same situation bro. just last week i approached this girl i always in the library, she said she was "kinda seeing someone", and i still went for the number. fast forward to monday, i asked her out for bubble tea, and she said she "might have to work, will let me know." and this friday, she texted me and said that she couldn't make it. i really like this girl haha, so i'm gonna give her another try. i texted her with "hey no worries. i figured you were busy, we'll try some other time then."

Not stupid. If you don't ask, you'll never know. If she says no, there's always other girls to ask. Maybe she's nervous, maybe she has a boyfriend, or she wants to tell you no in a gentle way. Don't sweat it.
